Starting all Over
We've moved! After years of talking about the pros and cons of moving and chasing our dream we finally made a decision to do it. Our old home no matter how much we decluttered and rearranged did not fit our family anymore. The talk of renovating came up often but we realized our update would price us out of the average resale value if we HAD to sell in the future and would present a pretty substantial money loss over time. So we cleared out most of our stuff, listed, and sold immediately. It was such a relief to sell but it also instilled a bit of panic because now we had to find a new home. We talked about following our dream and get a large property where we could do all the things we enjoys but after a realistic assessment we realized we were either going to need A LOT more money or we would both have to commute over and hour to get to work. Neither one of those sound like something feasible for our family, so we stayed well within suburbia. The perfect home almost seemed to call to us. I kept coming across random photos of the coming listing but dismissed them for one reason or another. When our home sold I threw caution to the wind and told the relator we would like to look at the house. It was not love and first sight. I was so attached to our old home that I had a hard tie imagining life any where else but as we walked through it was almost like a hug. Around each corner little bits of warmth grabbed hold. The house unfolded before our eye and we could imagine family time within those walls and dreams of the pulled us close until it was time to leave. We made a decision to buy the house within the hour! It was ours before midnight!
Now that we are all moved in a settled the whole process feels like a dream. Here we are in our first summer trying to grow a garden in a different area. This soil in this yard is perfect for cucumbers, a plant we never could get right in the old house. The flower beds are all a little formal for our taste but that will change over time. The inside is finally starting to come together, we are finally hanging things on the wall. (I don't know why we were afraid to put hangers in the wall) I have loved decorating and making little projects for the house and baking in the new kitchen has been an adventure because my system has been rearranged.
I decided to start my blog up again because I have a new zest for all the things I was once passionate about. I want to inspire other to love their homes, live their dreams, cherish their family and hygge their whole life.
